In the past Greensborough was mostly known for its roots and its close proximity, to the communities of Mount Joy and Markham Village to the south. However since 2005 the neighbourhood has undergone development. This planned community follows a Smart Growth model endorsed by the City of Markham. It features a mix of medium density areas commercial spaces and ample parkland that all come together seamlessly to create a welcoming neighbourhood, for families.
