History Of Midland Park, Toronto
Midland Park was initially a part of David and Mary Thomsons estate, who were the settlers, in Scarborough after moving here from Scotland in 1799. They had 11 children, one of whom Richard Thomson owned the farmhouse on Oakley Boulevard in this area. The neighbourhood as we know it today was developed between 1959 and 1962 by Curran Hall. Architect Edward (Ted) Ross, with a vision to create a village featuring innovative family homes. The mid century modern house designs became very popular among families leading to a sell out of the subdivision. These homes have maintained their charm over time. Still look just as impressive as they did when they were first constructed.
