History Of The Queensway, Toronto
The Queensway started off as a farming community in the 1800s. A quaint reminder of its history is the white stucco cottage nestled in an old farmers field at 694 Royal York Road.
In 1912 The Queensway underwent urbanization leading to the establishment of the two room Queensway Public School. Over the years this school underwent expansions in 1923 and in 1948. However by the 1960s The Queensway faced a decline in population resulting in the closure of Queensway Public School in 1969.
The former site of Queensway School was torn down in the 1990s to make way for the Price Club complex located south of The Queensway at Taymall Avenue. Interestingly like its predecessor, Price Club has become a landmark within The Queensway neighbourhood and has played a part in rejuvenating this area.

The Queensway, Toronto Homes
